Stargirl, also known as Courtney Whitmore, is a DC Comics superheroine. She first appeared in *Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E.* #0 (July 1999).

Courtney Whitmore becomes Stargirl after discovering her stepfather, Pat Dugan's, old Star-Spangled Kid costume and the powerful Cosmic Converter Belt. Using these items, she initially fights crime to annoy Dugan, but soon embraces the role of a superheroine.

She is associated with the Justice Society of America, often depicted as a youthful and optimistic member.
